Richard Keys is set to resign from his post at Sky Sports Wednesday night after revealing that his position has become untenable, according to reports.
The long-time presenter – regarded as the face of the company's football coverage – is expected to release a statement on Wednesday night, the Daily Mirror reports.
His colleague Andy Gray was sacked on Tuesday and it is believed that Andy Burton will also leave his post after footage was leaked of the pair making sexist remarks about assistant referee Sian Massey.
Keys, in an interview earlier on Wednesday, revealed that he felt there was “dark forces at work” which had escalated the pressure on him and ultimately could cost him his job.
The presenter admitted that he has made derogation remarks about Massey and stressed how sorry he was after further footage was leaked but maintained that his position with the company remained in the balance.
And the Sky anchorman is still not sure whether he wants to stick with his role after the unfolding events of the past couple of days, saying that he didn't know whether he could carry on without Gray.
